Multiplex, seven-screen, 630 seat, boutique luxury cinema to feature plush leather recliner seating, the latest technology in projection and sound, brewpub cafe and casual light fare with in-theater dining
A new family-owned, boutique multiplex cinema situated in the “heart of the market” will conveniently serve the entire Lancaster community and will be distinguished by the “Brewhouse Café”, offering in-theater dining and adult beverages in a new state of the art facility. That’s the plan for Reel Cinemas, a new seven-screen, 630-seat premier first-run cinema that will open in the Main Street retail component of The Crossings at Conestoga Creek in spring 2019.
Incorporated in the theater space will be Reel’s “Brewhouse Café” offering various craft beers, as well as a full-service bar with a light fare menu.
“Reel Cinemas will be a unique entertainment offering that’s the first of its kind in the Lancaster market,” said Steve Evans, senior vice president & managing director – retail division, High Real Estate Group LLC, the developer of The Crossings at Conestoga Creek. “It will fulfill our vision for The Crossings to be an exciting entertainment, dining and shopping experience in a cool-convenient place. Reel Cinemas is the perfect entertainment anchor for our Main Street.”
“As the theater industry continues to evolve, we look forward to bringing the latest model that blends entertainment and dining to Lancaster,” said Greg Wax, President and CEO of Reel Cinemas, Inc. Greg Wax’s son, Cody Wax, representing the 4th generation in the family business, said “In order to continue Reel’s success, we realized that we must adapt from neighborhood “legacy” movie houses to state of the art, specialty, boutique multiplexes with enhanced food and beverage services in luxurious environments.”
Reel’s theaters will have fully reclining, oversized plush leather seats, each with a swivel table to allow patrons to enjoy food and beverages ordered at the Brewpub Café (or online with reserved-seating ticket purchase) and served at your seat during a movie—an option that is not currently available in Lancaster. The menu will include items such as brick-oven pizzas, gourmet salads, wraps, as well as traditional concession items. The bar will offer a wide variety of beverages, including craft beers, wine, and handcrafted cocktails.
At 24,227 square feet, Reel Cinemas will complement the other 65,000 square feet of service-oriented retail shops and a broad array of dining experiences in the Main Street, as well as Wegmans, a 120,000-square-foot food market which anchors The Crossings. Wegmans opened on September 23, 2018. Miller’s Ale House, a casual sports restaurant and bar, opened October 15, 2018. A spring 2019 grand opening is planned for our Main Street tenants.
