Brad Mowbray joined High Real Estate Group in January 2014 and is responsible for leading the operation and growth efforts of the Company’s Residential division. Mr. Mowbray has over 15 years of experience in the real estate, investment banking and private equity markets, having closed $1.75 billion in transactions, including the acquisition and development of 5,000 apartment units.
Mr. Mowbray’s career began in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Legg Mason, where he helped structure capital raises and M&A transactions for various REITs and private real estate companies. In 2000, he left Legg Mason for a highly regarded, start-up technology firm to assist senior management with a $52 million round of venture capital financing, one of the largest private venture raises ever in the Philadelphia region.
Prior to joining High, Mr. Mowbray worked for Jefferson Apartment Group (formerly JPI) as its Director of Acquisitions, pursuing opportunistic and core multifamily acquisitions. In 2011, he left Jefferson Apartment Group to join the Silverwood Companies as its Vice President of Investments. Notable projects included winning an RFP to partner with Safeway on the redevelopment of one of their stores, entitlement and sale of a 417 unit apartment development project, as well as the off-market acquisition of a newly constructed apartment complex.
Mr. Mowbray received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond, in addition to obtaining a minor in Leadership Studies. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and Urban Land Institute. Additionally, Mr. Mowbray has served on several Housing panels focused on creating new zoning ordinances and affordable housing initiatives.
